    • Lodging for eight nights including one night in Seattle, three nights at Juan de Fuco Cottages, two nights at Manitou Lodge and two nights at Chateau Westport.

    • Personal items such as alcohol with meals, laundry, etc.

  • Tues., Sept. 16 - Arrive in Seattle-Tacoma (SEA-TAC).  Depending on your arrival time, I will pick you up at the airport or you can take a cab/Uber to the hotel that is just a few miles. We’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and review our plans for the week. Depending on schedules, we may do some local birding near our hotel before dinner.

    Wed., Sept. 17 - Sequim. We’ll make several stops as we make our way to Sequim where we’ll check into our rooms at the beautiful Juan de Fuco Cottages, our base for the next three days.

    Thurs., Sept. 18 - Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness Spit. In the morning we will drive to Hurricane Ridge, 5,200 feet above sea level offering amazing views of the San Juan Islands. We’ll look for Sooty Grouse, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Pacific Wren and others.

    Fri., Sept. 19 - Dungeness, Port Angeles and Costal Birding. Shorebirds, gulls, alcids and maybe even a humpbacked whale! We’ll take our time exploring this scenic area.

    Sat., Sept. 20 - Neah Bay and the NW Point. We’ll explore the coast as we make our way to the furthest northwest point of the continental U.S. Then we’ll make our way to Forks and check into our rooms at Manitou Lodge.

    Sun., Sept. 21 - Hoh Rainforest. The largest and northernmost temperate rainforest in the U.S. and one of the rainiest places in America. Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock, Coastal Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar are covered in moss and lichen. Pileated Woodpecker, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Pacific Wren, Varied Thrush and more.

    Mon., Sept. 22 - Pacific Coast and Kalaloch Beaches. If we can tear ourselves away from the gorgeous scenery, we may find puffins, guillemots, murres and more. We’ll spend the next two nights at the Chateau Westport.

    Tues., Sept. 23 - Pelagic Birding. Some of our hoped-for species will be Black-footed Albatross, Northern Fulmar, Flesh-footed Shearwater, Buller’s Shearwater, South Polar Skua, Sabine’s Gull, Marbled Murrelet, Rhinoceros Auklet, Tufted Puffin…

    Wed., Sept. 24 - Drive to Seattle and Departures please book afternoon flights out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
